On the occasion of the 33rd edition of the International Music Festival, the Embassy of Italy in Bahrain, in collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), has organised the concert “Luca Velotti meets Silvia Manco” at the Culture Hall in Manama on the 2nd of October.

Paying tribute to some of the greatest Italian jazz composers and artists of our century, from Paolo Conte to Ennio Morricone, Luca Velotti and Silvia Manco have enjoyed enormous success, proving once again Italian excellence and talent.

No less than 12 songs were performed by the two artists, from “Metti una sera a cena” by Ennio Morricone to “Anema e core” by Salvatore D’Esposito and Tito Manlio, in an emotional performance attended by local authorities, representatives of International Institutions and Diplomatic Missions accredited to Bahrain, members of the local society as well as the resident Italian community.

Speaking at the opening of the concert, the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Andrea Catalano, said: “I am very grateful to Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, for the consolidated cooperation and for once again opening the doors of the Cultural Hall to two talents of Italian music.” “Tonight’s concert also confirms the solid and fruitful collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities,” continued the Catalan Ambassador, “which on the one hand supports the promotion of Italian culture, history and art in Bahrain and the Gulf, and on the other enriches the cultural range of the Kingdom for the benefit of all citizens and residents.”
