The 71st Anniversary of the Italian Republic was celebrated on May 21st, with a reception at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel in Manama in the presence of H.H. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister’s Counselor, and of the Under-secretary for Foreign Affairs H.E. Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla. Numerous representatives of the Bahraini institutional, economic, cultural and social world were also present, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and a large representation of the Italian community living in Bahrain. The evening also included a short concert by pianist Gianfranco Pappalardo Fiumara and tenor Roberto Cresca, who proposed some of the most famous opera arias of the Italian music heritage.
In his statement, Ambassador Bellato recalled the breadth of the relations between Italy and Bahrain, developed over the years in all areas, and highlighted the potential for further enhancement with a view to bring about a qualitative leap forward to the bilateral partnership, in the economic field as well as on a cultural scale, in the wake of the positive trend recorded in 2016. The Ambassador also highlighted the commonality of views between Italy and Bahrain on numerous international dossiers, which is grounded in the importance both countries attach to the principles of cooperation and dialogue.
Ambassador Bellato also thanked the sponsors who contributed to the event and exhibited their products, a symbol of the excellence of made in Italy, in the ballroom that hosted the reception: Ferrari, Maserati, Armani, iGuzzini. Ornare flowers for floral arrangements and Gulf Brands were also thanked.
