Please be advised that Article 1, paragraphs 639-641 of the 2025 Budget Law has provided for some changes relating to applications for citizenship by descent – i.e. for having Italian parents or ancestors, based on the principle of iure sanguinis – submitted by adults to the Diplomatic-Consular Network, effective January 1, 2025.
Paragraph 639 establishes indeed an increase from 300 euros to 600 euros of the consular fee pursuant to Article 7 bis of the Consular Table attached to Legislative Decree no. 71/2011, paid by adults who submit an application for recognition of citizenship by right of blood at the Diplomatic-Consular Offices.
