The Embassy of Italy in Manama, in collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), celebrates the 100th anniversary of the death of Maestro Giacomo Puccini as part of the Spring of Culture Festival at the Bahrain National Theatre on 27 February.
The Maestro’s immortal opera is represented through his timeless arias taken from his most famous compositions: Manon Lescaut, La Bohème, Turandot, Gianni Schicchi, Tosca and Madama Butterfly.
Great performers will pay tribute to the Maestro: the star of Italian opera soprano Desirée Rancatore, the tenor Davide Tuscano, the pianist Jacopo Salvatori and the Massimo Youth Orchestra Ensemble with the violins of Riccardo Gaspare Di Prima, Alessio Leonardo Calabrò and Germano Maniscalco.
A new opportunity to celebrate the excellence of Italian culture and contribution to art, most recently with last year’s inscription of Italian opera singing in the UNESCO list of the intangible heritage of humanity.
The concert will be held at the Bahrain National Theatre on February 27, 2024 at 8 p.m.
