In collaboration with BACA, in the framework of the 32nd Bahrain international International Music Festival, the Embassy of Italy to Bahrain is pleased to announce the concert “A tribute to Ennio Morricone: Oscar Film Scores” by Il Quintetto that will take place next Wednesday October 4, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.
Admission is free.
In a tribute to the musician Ennio Morricone, considered one of the most important music composers of the 20th century, the Cultural Hall hosts the quintet that had the honour of working with “Il Maestro” for over 20 years.
Il Quintetto will perform some of the most famous musical compositions created for U.S. Western movies, such as “Once Upon a Time in the West”, “A Fistul of Dollars”, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” as well as the music from the films “The Mission” and “Cinema Paradiso”.
Ennio Morricone was an Italian musician with numerous works, particularly in the field of film scoring, where he composed and arranged for over 500 films and television productions, surpassing any other composer. Morricone won the Academy Award for Best Original Score in 2016, along with the film “The hateful Eight”. He received the Academy Honorary in 2007, won 3 Golden Globes Awards, along with 4 Gammy Awards and 6 BAFTA Awards. His albums have sold more than 70 million copies worldwide.
