World Week of Italian Cuisine: Genoa Pesto and the Mediterranean Diet

Italian Cuisine Week: the World Pesto Championship in Bahrain, thanks to the Municipality of Genoa and the Palatifini Association. Ten young Bahraini chefs have ventured into the competition with traditional marble mortars in an evening dedicated to the Mediterranean diet and tasting of Italian specialties. The winner will go to Genoa next year for the finals. Thanks to the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities for the splendid location in the Bahrain Fort complex, a UNESCO site.
In parallel, a week of Italian products was held at the LuLu hypermarket chain, the country’s main one, with a new and wider offer of products and a demo on the preparation of Genoese Pesto.
