The Embassy of Italy launches the Seventh Annual Week of Italian Cuisine in the World

The Seventh Edition of the Italian Cuisine Week promotes the idea of conviviality and innovation based on the importance of Italy’s local culinary traditions and products as well as the central role of the Italian cuisine as example of healthy and eco-friendly eating.

The Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World is an annual initiative created to promote Italian culinary traditions and food knowledge as a distinctive element of Italian identity and culture. This year the Week’s events, simultaneously organized all across the globe by Italy’s diplomatic and consular offices, Italian cultural institutes and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) network, will be held from November 14 to 20, 2022 and will have as theme: ‘Conviviality, sustainability, and innovation: the ingredients of Italian cuisine for people’s health and the protection of the planet’. To celebrate Italian food and culinary traditions as a hallmark of Italian cultural identity more than 8000 events have been organized all around the world.

The seventh edition of the Italian Cuisine Week in the World aims at promoting the idea of conviviality and innovation based on the importance of our territory, products, people, and the central role of the skills that make Italian craftsmanship renowned to the world.

The collaboration with the large-scale distribution operators is fundamental to introduce new excellent products to the food distribution. Given such important collaboration, the Embassy of Italy is organizing two special dinners: the first one at the Guf Hotel on Tuesday, November 15 and the second one at the Sofitel Hotel on Wednesday, November 16, both dedicated to the main importers and distributors of “Made in Italy” products in the Kingdom. During these two nights, the Italian Michelin-starred Chef Accursio Craparo will be preparing an ad hoc menu for all the guests willing to enjoy an amazing Italian food experience and Chef Accursio’s exquisite cuisine.

These events will be open to the public with a special price for the starred-set menu according to the availability of the hotels. In an interview upon arrival in Bahrain, Chef Accursio Craparo stated: “I am deeply honoured to be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain and I do thank the Embassy of the Italian Republic for taking me to such an incredible Country. I find many similarities in food and culture between Bahrain and Sicily, the Italian island where I come from. I hope that guests will enjoy my two different culinary journeys that mix sustainability and innovation yet tradition in each course””.

Alongside the dinners which will take place in these two hotels, more Italian restaurants within the Kingdom will be preparing ad-hoc set menus prepared for this unique week such as the restaurants Fatto, La Pergola, Ricco, and Rosso.
